Found a new little tip.... If you have greasy spots on the wall behind your stove all you need is a degreasing dish soap and water on a rag and it really does the trick :)

Nanaimo seems to offer alot of cleaners claiming they are natural and do the trick. I have tried many of them and feel that although they are a good idea they do not get rid of the dirt on say your floors and cupboard fronts. This week I will be trying more natural products with the goal for ScrubNSudz to be entirely eco friendly and stay just as efficient as before. Every single product will not have a negative impact on our beautiful planet :) Come back next week to see my results. Stubborn food dried and baked on inside of your Microwave?
Well take a microwavable glass fill it half way with Vinegar and turn on the microwave while glass inside. The time will be up to how badly the inside of the microwave is. Try 30 seconds to start and go from there. You should be able to just wipe off the grime with a paper towel instead of trying to scrub at it. Ever wonder how these myths came about or if any of them are true? Well I did some research and some testing and found out that some of these myths are not true. All of my research has come from many sites and trying some of these myths out. As I said earlier I did not come up with these myself but I have attached links to the sources that I found the information from below. Bleach Question: Is Bleach a Great Choice As a Cleaner? The heavy scent of bleach in the air must mean that something is really clean. After all bleach is the ultimate cleaner...right? Not so fast. Bleach may be great at a lot of things, but cleaning isn't really one of them. Answer: Bleach is a disinfectant and not a cleaner. Bleach does a fantastic job of killing germs. It removes tough stains. But bleach doesn't really clean dirt and residue from surfaces. To do that, you'd need to scrub and rinse surfaces. For many household cleaning jobs, bleach just isn't the right cleaning solution. It has heavy fumes that can make you sick. Contact with bleach on your skin is irritating and can be very harmful. Mixing it with many other cleaners can give you toxic results. Bleach can also damage surfaces and remove color. Bottom Line: Bleach is a good disinfectant and stain remover but not a great general cleanser. Does Carpet Cleaning shrink your carpet? It's everyone's worse nightmare. You hire someone to clean your carpet and when they're done it's shrunk into a smaller pile. I've dreamed that dream before, and the carpet technician in my dream didn't understand why I was upset. In reality though, this isn't usually a concern in our modern day. Find out why.
Answer: When carpets were made of lots of natural fibers, shrinking was a major concern. Still, most professionals new how to handle all types of carpets. Today most carpets are made of synthetic materials, reducing the risk of shrinking to almost nothing. It's always a good idea to know your carpet type and the manufacturer's instructions for it. One thing that could cause minimal shrinkage would be an overly wet carpet after your technician is finished cleaning. Reputable companies and technicians don't allow this to happen. Even so, it's a good idea to check your carpet's wetness before the tech leaves your home. Express concerns if you have them. And be sure to hire a reputable company to clean your carpets. Bottom Line: For most carpets, the risk of shrinking is almost nothing. Hiring a reputable company makes all the difference in your satisfaction, though. Yes I know many people have asked me over the years how do I get rid of this ring inside my toilet. It is not easy to get rid of if you have just left it. You say to your self but the toilet gets cleaned every week or every 2 weeks how is it getting dirty? Technically the toilet is not dirty this ring can be caused by a few things. These can be either Hard water or Rust.
There are a few ways we can use to try and remove the stain. Remember that if the stain is dark and set in you might not be able to get the stain completely gone. I will show you a few eco friendly ways to clean this and a few non eco friendly ways to do this. Eco Friendly:
Non Eco Friendly: There is a large selection of commercial toilet bowl cleansers currently available, including acidic and chlorine-based solutions designed just to treat toilet bowl rings. Acidic cleansers might remove hard water rings but can include strong acids, such as hydrochloric acid, that may require dilution before use. Chlorine-based cleaners, on the other hand, include items like bleach that work to remove mildew rings and may whiten other stains. Not only will you need to compare between brands, however, you will also have to take your pick of powdered or liquid cleaners. Powders are apt to provide gentle abrasion, while liquids can cling above and below the water line for longer direct contact on the toilet ring. You can also go to your local cleaning supply shop in town and ask them too. Some of these tips/advice I do receive from emails or website from other people. Want to keep more money in your pockets and stop spending money at the stores for cleaning supplies? Well I have a few recipes here that may help you save some money.
Flies yes they can be a pain but there is a eco friendly way to help get rid of these flies! Here is the recipe: Get a tall drinking glass (glass rather than plastic is best, so the plastic wrap will stick to it.) Pour apple cider vinegar into the glass until about 1/3 filled. It's important to use apple cider vinegar, or any fruity type vinegar, so it will smell like rotting fruit to the flies. Put a piece of plastic wrap over the top of the glass. Seal it tightly around the rim. Take a pen or a pencil and poke 2-3 holes in the plastic wrap. That's all there is to it! The flies are attracted to the rotting fruit smell, go inside and are trapped. If you have a recipe or a tip please send me an email or comment below I will use your tip or hint after I try them out myself first. From squidoo.com We all know its hard to get grease stains out of your clothing and other areas of you home. Here are a few tips that I have tried and used on many occasions.
Grease stains on clothing or other cloth materials:
Another great tip believe it or not is WD-40 this also works just as well if you are not into the Eco friendly way. If you have any tips or tricks that might help let me know I will publish them once I try them. Also leave me your name so I can give you credit in the blog. Cleaning the inside of a oven can be a time comsuming and smelly event. Here is a nice home friendly cleaner that you can do either overnight or just let sit for a few hours.
1/3 cup of baking soda spray bottle of water Take baking soda and sprinkle it over the bottom of the oven wherever your spills are. Then take the spray bottle full of water and spray all over the baking soda. Now you can either let it sit for a few hour or for harder/tougher stains let it sit overnight. Once it has sat for a bit you can take a soft scraper or sponge and wipe away the mess. Gosh windows are so hard to keep looking crystal clear. Finger prints, animal nose markings and outside debris it is no wonder our windows are always dirty looking. So whats an easy way to keep them clean? A safe and economical way to clean your windows is to use Vinegar. Mix 50/50 solution of Vinegar and Water. Yes sometimes vinegar can be pretty smelly at times but this will wear off pretty quickly and it will make your glass clear and streak free! What kind of cloth is good for cleaning windows?
I perfer to use a squigee or newspaper rather than cloth or paper towel which they normally leave behind little pieces of fluff. With news paper you do not get little specs of fabric everywhere and it helps to get a streak free shine. |
