Don't get scammed!
Having a house cleaner or maid service is a dream come true for many people. Unfortunately for some, hiring a good house cleaning service becomes a nightmare.
There are many things along with affordability that should be taken into consideration before you make your decision.
Ask friends or family if they know anyone that cleans. Maybe they can refer you to someone. If not be sure to shop around and ask many questions. Sometimes hiring the cheaper cleaner can be a nightmare rather than a dream come true.
There are many part time cleaners or as we call them Moonlighters. They are people that throw together some cleaning supplies and start cleaning. These moonlighters do not actually own and operate a business nor are they insured.
When deciding on a cleaner or company, make sure they are insured. Coverages that cleaner and cleaning companies should have are: WCB, General Liability. If the person you are meeting is not covered by either of these then you will want to consider the risk.
Even if the website or ad you see states they have insurance please ask for the information or proof of insurance/coverage. If they really do have coverage they should be able to produce something. I am able to produce proof without any problems they should be able too also.
I compiled a list of questions that customers have asked me and some that I have asked myself when I started my cleaning company. References anyone can make them so please do not rely on them alone.
